Celebrating Over 100 Years of Service to Our Community

For four generations the Ward family has been serving families with care and integrity. The values of listening, and helping people to honour the memories of their loved ones, have been at the heart of this family business for over a century.

Weston (Toronto) Chapel

William John (WJ) Ward purchased the business in 1914 from Mr. John Albert Wright, serving the small rural community of Weston. In the 1930’s there was a second chapel in Woodbridge under the direction of his eldest son Lindsay. After Lindsay’s death in 1937 the chapel was closed. In 1938 his youngest son William John (Bill) continued to operate the funeral home alongside his son’s William John (Jack) who joined him in 1959 and Alan M. who joined him in 1961 and took over the business upon their father's passing in 1968. Jack’s son William John (John) and Alan’s son Cameron joined the family business as the fourth generation in 1991 and 1993 respectively. The chapel has been a cornerstone in the community, and the building was selected to be featured in Doors Open Toronto in 2013.

The third generation of the Ward family oversaw the expansion of the business throughout the 1970’s and 80’s. With years of experience serving the Weston community in providing meaningful, affordable services, the commitment to providing this level of service to other surrounding communities was a natural choice.

Today the fourth generation of the Ward family are actively involved in the day-to-day operation of the funeral home. John and Cameron are passionate about the founding values of integrity and listening to families. They are committed to continually innovating in order to provide exceptional service and value to families for years to come.

Brampton Chapel

The David A. McClure Funeral Home was purchased in 1972. Known as the “beautiful white house on the hill” this heritage building has been home to many services over the years. Its team of caring professionals has helped lead numerous community events including the Annual Santa Claus Parade. Doors Open Brampton in 2008 also featured this century home.

Woodbridge Chapel

The Wards purchased property in 1988; the former residence of the Graham Family of Woodbridge. With the contributions and assistance of investors within the Woodbridge community, the Ward-Damiani Funeral Home opened in 1995; featuring a magnificent chapel and ravine view reception center. In 2002 the Ward family took over sole ownership of the funeral home.
