Yvonne Knox

Yvonne Thresa Knox (nee Leveque)

October 7, 1925 – February 29, 2024

With thanksgiving for a life well lived, we say farewell to a beloved soul who left this life on February 29, 2024, in her 99^th year.

Yvonne was the adored wife of George (deceased), cherished mother of Phillip (Robyn), Laurelle, and loving nana of Colin (Daisy).

Yvonne was the daughter of Philippe Leveque and Murial Marion, sister of Omer, Bernard (both deceased) and Laurelle. She was a treasured Aunt to her many nieces and nephews on both sides of the Knox and Leveque clans, and a Great Aunt to their respective families.

Throughout her long, wonderful life, Yvonne created lasting friendships, with bonds that included young and old, most of whom continued to visit, call and write through the years.

As a teaching assistant with the Borough of York Board of Education, at both the junior and high school levels, Yvonne supported, inspired and gently encouraged her students to reach their goals in the classroom and beyond.

Mom left us with fond memories of summers at the Georgian Bay cottage on Addison Beach, her sometimes goofy sense of humour, her creative and artistic flair, as well as a firm foundation of how to weather life’s tempests with determination, elegance and grace.

While we miss Yvonne being here with us, we rejoice that her presence will remain with those whom she loved and befriended forevermore.
