WILLIAM (BILL) LATCHFORD July 22, 1947 - October 15, 2009 (Toronto Star employee for 42 years) It is with great sorrow that our family announces the passing of Bill who ended his battle with cancer early Thursday morning, his family by his side. Bill's presence will be extraordinarily missed by those he loved and called friends. Predeceased by his parents Cecilia and Harold as well as his sister Carol Anne. The lifelong Jimmy Buffett fan and Parrot Head is survived by his loving wife, Maria, who cherished his devotion as a husband, and devoted son, Sean, who cherished his humour and strength. Dearly loved by his caring sister, Cecilia (Cece). He will be sorely missed by his cousins in Ottawa: Harris, Linda, Mary and Lex, as well as his many nieces and nephews, including those closest to him, Jacqueline, Billy, Blaine and little Pecos Bill. Fondly remembered by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank, Rod, Elizabeth (Bill), Gerry (Carole), Rudolph, Jake, Luci (Joe), Gerard (Joan), Francis (Marie). Bill's love for the Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville lifestyle made for lots of great meals, 'Cheeseburger in Paradise', great parties, 'lost shaker of salt', and hearty adventures. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Rd. (north of Lawrence Ave. W.), Weston, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass Monday at 11:30 a.m., St. Philip Neri Church, 2100 Jane St. (south of Wilson). Burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery. "Where it all ends I can't fathom, my friends. If I knew, I might toss out my anchor.
