It is with heavy hearts and fondest memories we share the loss of a tremendous man who passed away peacefully on July 26, 2015 at the age of 67. He was the loving husband of the late Eileen Burrell (Cherwaty). Son of Gordon and Jessie Burrell, father to Michael (Dragica), Carolyn (Brett), Alana (Kevin), Brother to Marleen, Glenda (Simon), Brother in law to Diane (Harald).
Grandpa to Ella, Emily, Adalyn and Lindsay.
Ken, President of Burrell Overhead Door, took over the management of his father's business in the early 1970's and with ambition and vision, created several successful related businesses.
Ken was selflessly involved in his community. He was a Director of the Vaughan Healthcare Foundation, Business Ambassador for the City of Vaughan, Director of the Chamber of Commerce, and founding member of the Veneto Centre Tennis Club.
He was dedicated to his family, friends, and enjoyed sailing, golfing and tennis here in Vaughan and in Florida.
Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Highway 7, Vaughan on Wednesday July 29, 2015 from 4-9 pm and Thursday July 30, from 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm. A prayer service will be celebrated on Friday July 31 at 9:30 am at Ward Funeral Home with burial to follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
Ken's life will be honored and his stories will always be remembered.
