White -William James
Passed away on December 4th 2016 in Mississauga Ontario in his 81st year. He will be dearly missed by Eli, his wife of 51 years and his two sons, Jim and William, daughter in-laws, Julie Vaillancourt and Fani Nhuch. Jim is pre-deceased by his sister Helen Craig and will be missed by his 4 grandchildren, Cameron, Meredith, Noah and Lucia.
Jim was born in Mulmur Ontario in April 1935 to William and Mabel White. He studied at the Ontario Agriculture College at Guelph earning both a diploma and a B.S.A. . Jim then went on to complete a PhD at Michigan State University in Communications where he met his wife Eli.
After a brief career at Agriculture Canada in Ottawa Jim went on to run a successful agricultural economic research consulting firm, InfoResults Limited. Jim enjoyed working on his farm in Mulmur and was an ardent supporter of rural land ownership rights. He served as president of the Canadian Consulting Agrologists association and was an active alumni of the Ontario Agriculture College at Guelph. A long-time resident of Brampton, Jim also served on the Brampton Heritage Board.
Friends and family are invited to visit at The Ward Funeral Home “Brampton Chapel” 52 Main Street South, (Hwy#10) Brampton on Friday December 9th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Memorial service in the chapel on Saturday December 10th at 11:00 am. Interment to follow in Shelburne Cemetery at a later date.
