William Humphreys

Died peacefully on November 12, 2010 in Oakville, in his 76th year, after a long and heroic battle with Parkinson's disease. Beloved husband of Penny and dear father of Daphne (Patrick), Robert (Danie) and Renee (Andrew). He will be missed by his granddaughters Sophie, Claire, Camille, Samantha and Daphne. Survived also by his sisters Dolly Workman and Lottie Daurie and his brother, James (Jimmy) Humphreys.
Bill was a man of many parts. He was born in Paris, France, raised in England, educated on three continents, and was trilingual. He settled and raised his family in Oakville, Ontario, a town he loved dearly. In his later years, he worked in business and real estate, but his true love was teaching and guiding his students in the art of debate. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Ward's Funeral Home, Oakville.
