William Costello

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of William “Bill'' Costello, age 88 of Brampton, Ontario, who passed away peacefully at Brampton Civic Hospital on August 1, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. 

Born on November 15, 1935, in Mountrath, Ireland, Bill immigrated to Toronto, Canada from Ireland in 1959 and was soon joined by the love of his life, Ethel, in 1960. Bill and Ethel married in 1961 and shared nearly 63 devoted years together. Their union was blessed with six children and their loved ones, wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Bill’s legacy lives on through all those who held a special place in his heart.

Bill’s journey from Ireland to Canada was marked by his unwavering dedication and devotion to his family, his kind spirit and his enduring love for Ethel. He always put his family and friends' needs before his own. He was a true gentleman, a family man, a hard worker, a warrior, a passionate sportsman, and an engaging storyteller. Fiercely loyal to family and friends he touched the lives of many with his warmth and generosity.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find solace in the countless happy memories, shared stories and the legacy of love and kindness that Bill leaves behind. He will forever be in our hearts. He will be remembered and missed by his adoring family and many friends.

In honour of Bill and to respect his wishes we will have a private celebration of his life for family members following a mass at St Mary’s Parish in Brampton on Saturday September the 7th @ noon.

Interment at Brampton Cemetery at 10 Wilson Ave in Brampton for any friends and family that wish to pay him a visit.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested your prayers for world peace.
