Andy passed away peacefully and surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, September 20th, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. at the age of 61. He will be deeply missed by his family. Beloved father to Stephanie Jackew -Sinclair, Melanie (Arthur) Landry and James Poole. Papa to Granddaughter Hailey Landry and soon to be grandson William, named after him. Loving Brother to Judy (Doug) Holmberg, the late Joe and Robbie Jackew. Beloved son to the late Nikolas Jackew and Harriette Joan Jackew. Cherished Uncle to Brett and Nicholas Holmberg and Kimberly Currie.
He fought like a soldier through a challenging battle. He was a strong man with a lot of pride. Andy was a free spirit; running wild through life--he would go wherever the wind took him. He loved music a great deal. He was a fantastic drummer which he enjoyed doing throughout his life. Andy was an extremely hard worker and a handyman, starting with school at George Harvey C.I., taking carpentry. Then went onto the construction field working with aluminum siding with his father and brother, Robbie and carried through for many years.
He got along with everyone and had many friends. He was loving and caring to his children. Andy was always a very peaceful man--never hurting a soul. He knew how to have a good time! Now he is resting in peace. As he always used to say when we were going somewhere, “Up up up and away like Superman!” He’s having a good time now with his brothers Joe and Robbie. He was like family to many in the neighbourhood growing up, and living around the area his whole time here with us, many said he was like a second dad to them. He read a lot, focused on history and earth. He knew so much about many things, and always had an answer. A wise man that will be missed greatly.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Hazel Burns Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
