Wesley Junkins, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at Bay Ridges LTC on August 21, 2024, in his 95th year. Born on September 8, 1929, Wesley lived a life marked by kindness, dedication, and a positive spirit.

Wesley began his working life at an early age in a lumber yard, where he developed a strong work ethic and a love for hands-on work. He later owned and operated his own trucking business, delivering bricks and blocks. Wesley’s career also included working with oil delivery trucks and managing a water softener business. In semi-retirement, he channeled his passion for craftsmanship into renovating and building houses.

Wesley was known for his remarkable ability to fix anything; there was nothing he couldn’t repair. His skill in woodworking and problem-solving became a cherished asset to his family and friends, who relied on his expertise for countless repairs and improvements.

A devoted member of the Salvation Army Church, Wesley’s commitment extended beyond mere participation; he served as the Corps Sergeant Major, a role in which he provided leadership and support to the congregation and its programs. His service also included playing in the Salvation Army band, contributing to the church's worship and community activities. His deep faith and unwavering dedication were central to his life.

Wesley was married to his beloved wife, Alice, for 73 years. Together, they shared a life filled with love and mutual support. Wesley is survived by his daughter, Janet(Jim), and their children: Jenna(Rory), and Sean(Paige), and his great grandson, Callum. Wesley is also survived by his son, John(Melanie), and their children: Mackenzie and Ethan. His family will remember him fondly for his positivity, wisdom, hardworking nature, and loving spirit.

Predeceased by his brothers Earl(Audrey) & Gord, his sister Lola, his sister-in-law Ellen and brothers-in-law Bob, Allan(Win). He is survived by his sister, Dorothy(Steve), his sisters-in-law Doreen, Janet and his brothers-in-law Clyde, Gilbert. His family will hold their memories close as they celebrate Wesley’s life.
