It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Palmer, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and great grandfather.
After a broken neck from a fall on the ice, Wayne passed away peacefully on Friday, June 10th with Karen and family by his side. He will be greatly missed by his wife Karen, Steven (Toni), Jason (Diane) and his grandchildren Amanda (Tyrell), Sabrina (Daniel), and Jack and his great grandson Aiden. He was proud of each and every one of his family. He was predeceased by his brother, Peter and his mother (Mary Watson) and his father (George Palmer).
Wayne loved his home and enjoyed sitting in his backyard and tending to his green, green grass. He was often found outside sitting in his shed with the radio playing – even in the winter. His yard contained his many woodworking projects
He fought valiantly and bravely for 3.5 years and will always be remembered by his dignity and his strength and courage in the face of great adversity. He truly had the heart of a lion.
Thank you to the nurses and doctors of Humber Hospital, 13th Floor East who were so very kind and compassionate when caring for Wayne these last 10 months and to our family and friends who supported us for 3.5 years.
We are grateful to have you in our lives.
He will be missed always for grief is the price of love!
In lieu of flowers donations in Wayne's Honour to The Spinal Cord Institute of Ontario would be greatly appreciated.
