Schaffert, Waltraud “Walli”
September 22, 1938 – September 12, 2022
It is with deep sadness and heartache, that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Mrs. Waltraud “Walli” Schaffert (Heise) at the age of 83. She passed away in her sleep, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.
Walli was the loving wife of the late Herbert Schaffert, sister of the late Erika Haeussler (Rudy) and their parents. Cherished mother of Thomas (Jan daughter-in-law and family) and Susan (Warren son-in-law and Step Oma to Emily (Adam) and their children Renata and Levon). Dear aunt of Steven (Lynn and family) and Jutta (Roger), Lindsay (her son Bryce), and Rachel (Martin). She will be deeply missed by extended family and friends. She will always be remembered as a strong, kind social butterfly who kept up a busy lifestyle. She enjoyed dancing, traveling, playing cards, swimming, gardening, pet cats and being surrounded by her family and many dear friends. We all love You! Forever in our Hearts!
As a family we would like to thank her friends in her apartment building (Joe & Charlotte, Vera & Richard and Cathy) who always made sure she had what she needed, got out to play cards or called to chat. We would also like to thank her doctors, nurses in the Cancer Ward at Humber River Hospital over the years and more recently the in-home palliative doctor and staff from Dorthey Ley. We are truly grateful for your guidance and support!
As per our mother’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.
Friends and family are invited to join us for coffee and cake at our mother’s Celebration of Life which will be held on Saturday October 1, 2022 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at 1703-63 Widdicombe Hill Blvd Etobicoke, Ontario M9R 4B2.
