Violet Boardman

VIOLET ('VI') BOARDMAN Vi Boardman was born Mary Ellen Violet Patricia Raine in Montreal, Quebec on January 31, 1921. Soon after moving to Toronto in 1939 she met the love of her life, Eric Boardman whom she married in 1942. Eric died last August, and Vi went to join him on September 21, 2009. Vi leaves her loving daughters, Karen Bryer and Valerie Boardman, son-in-law Richard Bryer, her brother Charlie, sisters-in-law Reta and Margaret, and lifelong friends Maureen Downey and Betty Ledger. She was predeceased by her brother Ernie in 1995. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Toronto Western Hospital, and the skillful and caring staff at Baycrest's Palliative Care Unit 6W. We would also like to thank our private caregivers Annis, Olivia and Sara - your love and support during this very difficult time was much appreciated by Mom and our family. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (north of Lawrence Ave.) Weston, on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 12 noon until time of service in the Ward Chapel at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Sanctuary Park Cemetery.
