VINCENZO CIERI Left us on May 8, 2015 at the age of 89. Born April 6, 1926 in Pollutri, Chieti, Italy. He was the son of Panfilo Cieri and Maria Carmela Scotti. Devoted husband to Maria for 57 years. A very Loving father to Panfilo Emilio (Teresa), Maria Carmela and Carla (Francesco). He was a Nonno to Vincenzo Adriano, Marco Christopher Cieri and to Giuliano Franco, and twins Sofia Maria and Christopher Patrick Schiavone who were the JOY TO HIS HEART. The brother of Anna (Nina), Palmira, Giovina, and Giovanni, he was fourth born and first son.
Vincenzo was an intellectual and literary man. A proud Italian and a prouder Canadian. He was the story teller of his own life experiences such as swimming in the Adriatic and getting caught in a storm. A person who loved and was immersed in the world of politics Italian style with passion. Most of all he was our dad the teacher of how to tell time, add and multiply. He taught himself how to read the English language and translate it to Italian for him to understand. He taught us how to be proud of our heritage and learn, learn, learn.
Collingwood was his favorite destination outside of Pollutri. A place for him to walk the never ending trails in the Ontario landscape, alla montagna.
