Andriano, Vincenzo
It is with great sadness that the Andriano family announces the passing of their beloved patriarch Vincenzo Andriano. Born in Marcina Superiore, Reggio Calabria on November 25th, 1923. Vincenzo succumbed on July 21, 2017 after having fought a brave battle against Alzheimer's disease. Vincenzo was surrounded by his beloved wife Maria Giuseppina of 75 years, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Vincenzo will be remember as a man of great integrity, one devoted to his family and friends and a mentor to those he helped bring and helped settle in Canada. As a young man, loving father and devoted husband he left his beloved Calabria to forge a new life for himself and his family. He bravely travelled to a foreign land where he did not know the customs or language in an effort to provide a better life for those he loved. Vincenzo worked tirelessly, persevered, flourished and in 1960, started Joe's Snack Service Limited where he worked past his 80th birthday.
Vincenzo is survived by his wife Maria Giuseppina (Racco), his 7 children and their spouses: Alfredo (Katherine) Andriano, Vincenzina (Giuseppe) Racco, Ada (Umberto) DiProspero, Rose (Vincenzo) Condarcuri, Maria (Michele) D'Andrea, Jon Andriano and Rita (Vito) Maida. Vincenzo was blessed with 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He leaves his brother Frank and is predeceased by his brothers Francesco, Salvatore, Rocco, Luigi, Mario, Giuseppe and his sisters Maria (Panetta) and Giuseppina (Racco). Vincenzo also leaves family and friends in Italy, Argentina, the United Sates and Australia.
Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Hwy #7 (west of Pine Valley Dr.), Woodbridge, on Saturday from 6-9p.m. and Sunday from 2-4, 6-9 p.m.
