Vincenza Vazzoler Martini at the age of 96 years, passed away at home peacefully on October 22, 2023, after a struggle with dementia. Vincenza was born on October 1, 1927 to Giacinto Vazzoler and Angela Sartoretto, in the town of Salgareda, Treviso, Italy. The eldest of eight siblings (Sante, Afra (Giovanni), Guido (Anna), Giovanni (Marie), Emilio (Gina), Teodotto, Adriano (Adrianna).
She left her home in Italy with her three small children and immigrated to Canada in June of 1956 to join her husband Giovanni Martini. They both worked, raised their four surviving children Geniva (Virgilio), Bertilla (Anselmo), Gastone (Carol), Vali (Maurizio) and provided a home for newcomers as well, in the North York community.
Vincenza is survived by two brothers Emilio (Gina) and Adriano (Adrianna), her four children, their spouses, twelve grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and many nephews, nieces and cousins. A strong and devoted woman, “Nonna” hosted many family gatherings and welcomed everyone to the table. She will be deeply missed by all and forever live in our hearts.
