Vida Lenore Claxton was peacefully granted her angel wings on June 29, 2014. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends.
Vida was born in the beautiful island of St. Kitts on February 13, 1954. Her fun loving and ambitious character led her to immigrate to Canada in 1975 where she began a life incomparable to many others.
Vida joined Bell Canada in 1977 where she dedicated over 30 years as an operator/clerk providing impeccable customer service to the public.
Vida’s beautiful soul will be immeasurably missed by her beloved husband of 30 years Gene Claxton and her loving son Geron Claxton. Vida was predeceased by her mother, Althea DeCosta, and father, Clyde DeCosta. She is survived and will be extremely missed by her loving sisters: Greta Williams, Valerie Daniel, Shermel Hamilton, Erma Trotman, and her loving brothers: Earl DeCosta, Calvin (Lee) DeCosta, and Denzil DeCosta. Vida was a loving niece survived by her aunts: Pearl Payne, Sylvia Ward, and Myrtle Yearwood and caring aunty to her many nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her many cousins, extended family, dear friends, past co-workers and neighbours.
Too well loved to be ever forgotten.
