Urna “Sonia” James (nee Reid) received her angel wings on January 17th, 2022 when God called her home.

Sonia was born in Clarendon, Jamaica on January 17th, 1947. The daughter of Joseph Reid and Winnifred Rowe.

She would always greet you with a smile, share kind words of wisdom, and retell stories of her time in Jamaica. Even as she grew frail, Sonia gave us courage and hope, and reminded us of God’s love. Saying "be encouraged and keep the faith."

Sonia loved to watch action movies and musicals. Her favourite being James Bond and The Sound of Music. She always enjoyed knitting hats for the newest members of the family.

She is survived by her daughters Natasha and Tricia. She will be missed by her siblings Owen, Beverly, Jetty-Mae, Aldena and Leticia. Deeply loved and fondly remembered by her five grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Sonia was always one to give words of wisdom and encouragement saying "don't let fear stop you from having good clean fun." Her infectious smile and sense of style will be greatly missed.

A faithful child of God, her lifestyle choices were guided by her Christian faith as she found fellowship at the Church of God Sabbath-Keeping in West Toronto.

Sonia has now found peace and comfort with the Lord. She will forever be loved and remembered by all those whose lives she has touched. May she rest in peace.

The family would like to express our sincere gratitude and love to each of you for your thoughtfulness, and kind words, during this difficult time.

A private family visiting and funeral service will be held.
