It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tommaso Bellini in his 89th year. Tommaso came to Canada in the 1950s and made Toronto his home. He will always be remembered as a hardworking soul. Tommaso could not read or write English but he had a strong work ethic. He met his wife, Lea (predeceased) in Welland and together they raised 2 children, Rose (Tony) and Dante (Nadia). Tommaso leaves behind his commitment that with hard work anything is possible for his 6 grandchildren, Elena, Stefano, Eric, Lea, David and Adrian. He began his career with Zentil Plumbing and Heating Inc., where he spent 40 years as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He enjoyed travelling immensely to many places such as Montreal, Halifax, Michigan, Florida, Ohio, Colorado, Aruba, Cuba, Mexico, Jamaica, Barbados and Italy. Of course, his most precious times were spent with his brother, Sabatino, family members and friends at the Bellini Farm in the Town of Arthur. He loved to play bingo, help his neighbours with outdoor tasks, clean snow, take neighbourhood walks, go bicycle riding and share special luncheons and dinners with the seniors on Starview Drive.

Tommaso is predeceased by his brother Savino and sister Maria. He leaves behind his brother, Sabatino and his sister, Avina. Tommaso was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia in his 80th year. He spent 6 years in his home on Starview Drive battling this disease and almost 4 years at Villa Leonardo Gambin long term care home. The family would like to thank his private caregivers, Jenny and John and the 2nd Floor Health Care team at Villa Leonardo Gambin for all their patience, compassion and loving care. Tommaso never gave up on life or anyone and the family appreciates that his caregivers at Villa Leonardo Gambin provided him with the same respect in his final years.
