Timothy Andrew Seaman

October 8, 1942 — October 12, 2019

Timothy Andrew Seaman

On Oct 12th, Timothy Andrew Seaman passed away, at age 77, surrounded by his loving family following Thanksgiving dinner, after a long battle with kidney cancer. He is survived by his wife Anne, daughters Lori Warren (David) and Lisa Wright (David) and son Robert Seaman (Wendy). Tim has 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Born in Port Arthur (now Thunder Bay), Tim found his way into the family lumber business, Great West Timber, at age 19, working bush camps and logging sites, and liberating Christmas trees from front yards.

Tim met the love of his life at Lakeview High School. Marriage soon followed, along with kids, a house, dogs, barn cats, horses and multiple jobs within the company. He sold Pella Windows, invested in a gas station and even ran for City Council.

In 1984, Tim moved to Shelburne to start Shelburne Wood Processing, a wood treatment plant he managed with pride, especially its exceptional environmental record. Trials and trepidations never slowed Tim down. He took a company that teetered on bankruptcy and made it an industry leader.

Tim retired in 2006 and moved to Brampton. Soon after, he bought his yacht “…or what’s a heaven for.” Anyone who made the drive to Keswick had a turn at the helm.

After a short stop in Mississauga, Tim moved to Fort Erie. No one had a cleaner pool or cooler diving rock. They hosted friends, neighbours and family, and even had a wedding in their backyard.

The family wishes to acknowledge a number of health care providers including Dr. Hansen and the oncology team at Princess Margaret Hospital, Dr. Dosani and the palliative care team at Credit Valley Hospital. The team of Vince, Ruth and Vin for the in-home care. We also thank the emergency response teams who assisted in his final moments, Brampton Paramedic, Fire and Police Services.
