Timo Venalainen

Timo Antero Venalainen (born 18 September 1947 in Finland) passed away peacefully on 1 December 2024 at Weston Terrace. 

He will forever be missed by his loving wife, Lorna. He is survived by his beloved sister, Helena (John). He is reunited in heaven with his parents, Airi and Erkki.Cherished by his dear children, Jonathan (Laura) and Marty (Jennifer). Proud grandfather to Bianca, Ellis, and Niko. Remembered fondly by sisters-in-law Barbara (David), Brenda (Roland), and Felicity. Admired by nieces and nephews Ingrid, Melissa, Kevin, Jennifer, Felicity, and Timothy.

Friendly colleague to many at the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) from his 37 years of service. Tennis partner to many at the York-Weston Tennis Club and Mayfair West.

Family and friends will be received at the visitation at Ward Funeral Home (Weston) on 4 December 2024 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. They are also welcome at the funeral service to be held at Ward Funeral Home (Weston) on 5 December 2024 at 10:30. Lunch will be served following the service.

The family wishes to thank the many people who cared for Timo in his later years including (without limitation) Unice, Allen Cabato; the staff at Weston Terrace (including Dr. Mansfield); and Dr. Kalia, Dr. Munhoz (and fellows) at the University Health Network.In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to Parkinson Canada and the University Health Network (UHN) Foundation.
