Words cannot describe the sadness we feel in the passing of Thomas (Tom/Tommy) Hynes. Born and raised in Newfoundland he later moved to Toronto, Ontario in 1994 where he would live out the remainder of his life. He was a colourful character who took great pleasure in many of the little things life has to offer such as hockey, going out to eat for special occasions, volunteering at the Salvation Army, chatting with his daughter and son in law on the phone, the occasional ice cream and he was always up for a good joke. His favourite singer was Johnny Cash and we always knew who to call when we needed to know the score of a hockey game (especially if Montreal Canadians were playing). Did we mention he LOVED hockey? His favourite saying was "it's hard to be humble" and with a heart of gold like Tom, we would have to agree with him.
Predeceased by his mother and father Veronica and Gordon Hynes and his 2 sisters Eileen and Lillian. He will surely be welcomed with open arms by his predeceased wife of 35 years Lorraine (the love of his life). Left with many fond and loving memories are his brother Terrance (Terry) Hynes, nieces and nephews Sammy, Donna, Veronica (Vonnie), Tommy and Adam. Good friends Pat and Chris Schin. Also many other family members and friends who will miss him and be thankful for the time they spent with him.
And lastly his daughter Tammy, son in law Mike and Plinko (the pet birdy), who cherished and loved him more than he could ever know.
