Thomas "Billy" Varickanickal

Thomas (‘Billy’) Varickanickal, passed away on Wednesday 21 October, 2020 due to Covid-19 at the Brampton Civic hospital in Brampton, Ontario.

He leaves behind his wife Dolly, and their four children, Josh, Joel, Joann and Jocelyn.
He was born on January 31, 1956, in Kanjirappally, Kerala, India, and was the youngest of 8 siblings. He has 3 brothers, and 4 sisters. He arrived in Canada on October 25, 1975. Thomas and his wife, Dolly, got married on April 7, 1984 at Central Park Baptist, in Brampton.

His faith was most important to him. He always prioritized reading his Bible, praying and meditating. He trusted God with everything and encouraged others to do the same. Many of his conversations with family and friends centered around faith. He lived out his faith, as he was a constant source of love, joy, patience, kindness and gentleness.

As a loving and devoted husband and father, he most enjoyed spending time with his family, whether it was watching a movie together, going on a road trip, or conversations on various topics while sharing a meal together. Thomas also treasured time with extended family and friends, whether it was for a holiday, Bible study or an informal dinner. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on various tasks around the house, or on creative woodworking projects. He always took pride in learning the necessary techniques to complete a project.

Thomas fruitfully lived the days God had ordained for him in this world. We can be sure what Apostle Paul says about himself in 2 Timothy 4:7-9 is also true in Thomas’s life.7 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; 8 in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.”

Thomas will be deeply missed by his wife, four children, and his larger circle of family and friends.
