Theo Bakker

Dad left us peacefully on August 19th, 2016 after a brief illness. He had a long and full life with our Mom (Margaret nee van Drie) , who he missed terribly since her passing and was happy to be reunited with her. He leaves behind Joanne, Jim, Betty (Rick) and Anthony (Karen). His five grandchildren, Jason (Kristen), Daniel (Alicia), Yvonne, Katrina (Adam) and Sarah, will remember their Opa with great love and affection. He was a constant presence in their lives, eager to hear of all that was going on with them. His great granddaughter Erin was among the joys of his final year and her visits always brightened his days. Also mourning Dad’s passing are David and Janet Bell, the extended Bakker and van Drie family in the Netherlands, Australia, Brazil, Germany and Norway as well as family and friends in Canada. Friends and family will be received at the Ward Funeral Home "Brampton" Chapel, 52 Main St S. (Hwy #10) Brampton, on Wednesday August 31st, 2016 from 7-9pm with a Memorial Service at St. Jerome’s Roman Catholic Church on Thursday September 1st, 2016. Cremation has already taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made in Theo's memory to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Arthritis Society.
