Terezia Margit Bajnoczi passed away on January 5, 2017. After a courageous battle with a tough illness, she crossed peacefully through heaven's gate with her loving family at her side. Her memory will linger sweetly in all of our hearts forever. May she enjoy peace in Heaven's garden.
Terezia was born November 3, 1925, to Margit and Gyorgy Bognar, in Zalaapati, Hungary. Her family relocated to Budapest when she was nine years old. World War 2 forced her and her parents to flee Hungary, travelling through Austria, Germany, France and then Morocco before arriving in Toronto, Canada where they permanently settled in 1952. She met Joseph Bajnoczi that same year, and married him in May, 1953. They had three daughters which they raised together until his untimely death in 1976. Although Terezia was widowed at a young age of 51, she never remarried. She continued to raise her teenage daughters and returned to the workforce. Later she took an active role in raising three of her five grandchildren - Karl Prelak, Joey Bigelli and Angela Bigelli. She is survived by her three daughters - Teri Satorhelyi (residing in LA, California), Margit Bajnoczi and Ildiko Leindekar. She leaves behind five grandchildren - Joseph and Andrea Satorhelyi, Joey and Angela Bigelli-Bajnoczi, and Karl Prelak - and two great-grandchildren Deanna and Jade Satorhelyi. She will be missed so very much by all of us.
