Teresa Marcocchio

God called our dear mother, Teresa (Fantin) Marcocchio on June 2, 2020 at the age of 88. She will be forever missed by her loving family. Cherished by her dear children Milena (Nick) and Flavio. Super proud Nonna of Christina (Rob) and Alessandro (Amanda), and especially fond and caring Bisnonna of Brianna and Mackenzie. Teresa has now joined her loving husband Gino in eternal life, along with her brother Tarcisio, sister Raffaella, and her parents Giovanni and Rosa (Colussi) Fantin.

Born in the little town of Casarsa della Delizia, she survived the war, worked for a bit and then came to Canada with the love of her life, Gino. Flavio and I came along and you could not have had better loving and caring parents. Even after papa was taken from us suddenly, as a young widow, mamma was always strong, courageous and raised Flavio and me with unsurpassed love, dignity and respect.

Later in life, she developed the travel bug, and toured the world. She loved to read, sewed, knitted, kept up to date with all current events (she could tell you soccer scores and political events in a heartbeat) and volunteered at Villa Colombo as the Bingo Lady and occasionally read to the seniors.

She always liked entertainment and we shared many trips to Casino Rama to see famous Italian singers like Zucchero, Gianni Morandi and Massimo Ranieri. Each year we also went with the grandkids to see the latest Ed Mirvish productions like Beauty and the Beast, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and The Lion King.

She was her happiest though when the grandkids were around. Just like she did for Flavio and me, she attended all their school functions and accomplishments with such pride and joy. These culminated with Christina’s and Alex’s weddings and the birth of the great-grandkids.

We are going to miss you mamma--Especially our talks and outings to “Wallymart”. You were a great mother, mother-in-law, grandma and great-grandma. You touched the lives of so many people with your smiles and positive attitudes. Rest in Peace and we will be with you again someday.

Love you forever.
