BERGER, STEFAN - Peacefully at his Brampton home on September 18, 2009 at the age of 78 after a battle with cancer.
Husband of Doris Mannig for 49 years and dear brother of Käthe Kozanda (Manfred) and Elisabeth Schoch (Hans) of Germany. Beloved father of Gabriela Zygouras (predeceased), Manuela, Christine Jennings and Steven. Loved Grandpa and Opa to Katherina (Craig), Jeffery, Steven, Mitchell, Keith, Melanie, Stefanie, Bradley, Robert (predeceased).
Stefan was born in Budaörs, Hungary on August 6, 1931. After World War II his family moved to Germany and he immigrated to Canada in 1954. In Canada, Stefan worked on the Laidlaw family farms in Norval before moving to Brampton where he was a long-time employee of Designed Precision Castings. He enjoyed gardening, travelling and was a big fan of soccer, hockey and Formula 1 racing.
A visitation will be held at Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main Street South, Brampton (905-451-2124) on Tuesday September 22, 2009 from 10:00 �" 11:00 AM. A funeral service will immediately follow in the chapel at 11:00 AM with interment at the Brampton Cemetery on Church Street.
