It is with great sorrow and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Alfred John Thomas Stapleton aka 'Sonny', 89 of Brampton. Alfred passed away peacefully on December 29th 2016 at Brampton Civic Hospital. Alfred was born December 4th 1927.


They say the true measure of a man, is the mark he leaves upon this world when he departs it. Alfred leaves behind his beloved wife of 70 years, Margaret and a loving family, the greatest accomplishment a man can have.


Alfred was a Father to Danial (Terri), Luanne (Tom), Tammy (Rich), Dorothy and Julie (Tom). He was Papa to Stacey (Keith), Terra (Jason), Jared (Odillia), Luke, Chantelle (Adam) and Spencer. He was a Great Grandfather to Morgan (Candie), Kyle, Madeline, Amanda, Hayden, Olivia, Megan, Chase and Drew.


Alfred’s strong faith, his hard working and honest approach to life inspired all who crossed paths with him. He loved to sing and dance and often said “If you can't make someone smile today, there's no point in getting out of bed”.


He will be missed, but never forgotten and loved and respected eternally.


The Celebration Of Life Service will be held Monday January 2nd 2017 at


Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Brampton Stake Centre

10:30am – 11:30am Visitation/Viewing

11:30am Celebration of Life Service

12:30pm Reception/Lunch

1:30pm Burial at Glendale Memorial Gardens (Hwy 27 and Albion Rd, Etobicoke)


Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass but rather learning to dance in the rain.
