September 27, 1939 - November 19, 2024
It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear father, Silvio Sante Brusco on November 19, 2024, in his 85th year. Silvio was born on September 27, 1939, to Nicolino and Maddalena Brusco in L’Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy, and was a beloved brother to Maria Pia, Ornella, and Virgilio.
Silvio is now reunited with the love of his life, Marcella (nee Franchi), with whom he was married for 53 wonderful years. Together, they were the very proud parents of their two sons, Nicolino (Enza), and Armando (Denise). Silvio was a devoted grandfather to Gabriella, Sabrina, Matthew and Maddeline. He will be greatly missed by his many extended family members and friends.
Silvio’s friends and family will remember him as a kind, gentle & caring man who created a better life for his family here in Canada. He always gave everyone he knew the benefit of the doubt and would persevere through hardship, no matter the situation he found himself in. He was a man of great strength, and ensured everyone he encountered was treated like family.
Silvio was very inquisitive, he took great interest in reading, history and geography. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, and always found the time to be with his grandchildren and support their many extracurricular activities.
He loved sports, especially football, and even played rugby as a teenager. He appreciated the hard work and resilience the athletes would show in their great accomplishments. Silvio loved to travel, and to be near the mountains or on the beach. He never forgot where he came from, but he grew to love Canada dearly and considered it to be his home.
“Forever loved, always remembered”
Memorial donations may be made in Silvio's memory to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
