Sigrid Egizii

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sigrid, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend, who left us peacefully on April 25, 2025 at the age of 73.

Sigrid was the loving wife of Nick for over 50 years. Together, they built a beautiful life centered on family, love and unwavering support for one another.

She was a proud and loving mother of Michael (Sandra), Andrea (Daniel), and Christopher (Carina), and the devoted grandmother - “Oma” - to Nicholas, Isabelle, Matthew, Cameron, David, Nicole, and Kayla. Nothing brought Sigrid more happiness than being surrounded by her grandchildren, whose laughter and energy filled her heart with pure joy. She never failed to bring a smile and share her love with her sister, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law. She will be deeply missed by her mother, Christine Hoffmann, and is now reunited with her father, Egon Hoffmann, and her beloved in-laws, Assunta and Donato Egizii.

Family and friends meant everything to Sigrid. Her connection with both her immediate and extended families, whether in Canada or at her home in Florida, was rooted in a profound and heartfelt kindness.

Sigrid’s warmth, humility, and generosity touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Her deep appreciation for life in all its forms was unmistakable. She gave freely of her time, her heart and her good fortune, never expecting anything in return.

To know Sigrid was to love her. Whether through her warm and giant hugs, quiet gestures or her hearty laugh, she made sure those around her felt valued and cared for. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength and a deep love for those closest to her.

Each time we feel the comforting embrace of a hug, we will think of Sigrid — her radiant spirit, her boundless love, and the beauty she shared with us.

She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.

Visitation will take place at Ward Funeral Home (4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge. 905 851-9100) on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 9:30 am at Immaculate Conception Church (300 Ansley Grove Rd, Woodbridge.)
