Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her home on May 10, 2010. A loving wife to Jack, a loving mother to David(Alison), Diane (Gary) and Peter. A proud grandmother to Christopher (Winnie) and Timothy (Denise) Patterson, MacKenzie, Caitie, Rachel, Evan, Matthew and Alexander Galway, and a great grandmother to Jade and Evan Patterson. Shirley will be missed by her extended family and loyal friends.
Shirley was a 3rd generation Brampton resident whose family help found First Baptist Church on Main Street in 1876. Shirley’s family is proud of her involvement in the community, and in particular, many years of service to the Peel Memorial Hospital. Shirley was an ARCT graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Music, University of Toronto. Family and Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main Street south, (Hw 10), Brampton on Thursday May 13th, 2010 from 7-8:30 pm. A private family service will be held at First Baptist Church, Brampton. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.
