The angels sang. Sheila Veronica Thomas answered with the sweet voice of salvation. Praise be to God.
On July 20th, 2022 with open arms Sheila entered her final resting place.
She is predeceased by her father MacDonald Haynes, her mother Alice Maude Nicholls, her brothers Julian, John, and Henderson. She is also predeceased by two of her three sisters, Patricia and Judy survived by her other sister Ruth.
Sheila had the honor and privilege of raising 6 wonderful children. She has now joined her daughter Cheryl in heaven. Her surviving children are Francine, Terry, Andre, Margaret and Sean. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Christina, Sasha, Sarah, Titus, Amos and Solomon; her great-grandchildren Mehayla, Marcus and Mehryssa; and dear friends Pilly and Cynthia in Barbados.
Sheila was born and raised in Hindsbury Road, St. Michael, Barbados, and, along with her family emigrated to Canada in 1976. She worked in the hospitality industry in Barbados and Canada for many years before retiring. Sheila enjoyed gardening, Gospel music, politics, cooking, horse racing, football, baseball and basketball. We will miss her words of wisdom, her various ways of saying NO, her humour and strong will. Sheila would say.....Go with God and He will go with you. May she rest in peace.
