It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Severita Puopolo Rumble, born on February 18, 1949 and passed away on January 5, 2023.
Severita “Rita” was born on February 18, 1949 in Monteleone di Puglia, Foggia, Italy and passed away peacefully on January 5, 2023 in The Dorothy Ley Hospice in Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada at the age of 73 years.
Daughter of the late Antonio and Maria Luigina Puopolo, sister to Severia ((late) Vincenzo Sinopoli), (late) Agostino, Rocco, Michael, (late) Guiseppe “Pino/Joe”, Carmelo “Lino” (Mirella), and Anna Maria.
Rita is survived by her children, Anna Maria (Samuel Coleman), Matthew James (Stella Kolliniatis), and Weston Alexander, who will cherish their fondest memories in their hearts forever and are grateful for all she has done.
Rita was proud of her grandchildren: Aquiyla (Michael Chin), Ayesha (Martin Downey), Philip, Nyjelle, Casandra, Matthew Jr., Royal, Athena, Stellina, Natalia, and Violetta.
Rita was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Malikai, Maliha, Caius Charles, and Micah King.
Rita was also survived by a host of nieces and nephews: Rita (Jeff), Teresa (Ram), Tony (Anna), Gina and Antonella (Nuno); Megan, Melissa, Rachael, Aaron, Vinny, Sophia, Naima, Mila and Elly; Erika (Anthony Belpulsi) & (Sienna Marie Belpulsi; Nicolas Anthony Belpulsi and Antonio Carmelo Belpulsi) and Alexandra; and Remington.
And her many beloved friends, who became her family.
In lieu of flowers, a special fund was created by The Triumphant Church of God Durham in memory to honor Rita’s life’s passion in helping those in need.
Visitation will be held on January 13, 2023 from 9:30am at Ward Funeral Home – Weston, 2035 Weston Road, York, Ontario.
Celebration of life will be held on January 13, 2023 at 10:30am at Ward Funeral Home – Weston, 2035 Weston Road, York, Ontario.
Entombment will be held on January 13, 2023 at Prospect Cemetery Mausoleum, 1450 St. Clair Avenue West, Toronto, Ontario.
