SELMA LESLIE CRANE (NEE SHAW) FEBRUARY 9, 1921 MARCH 12, 2010 The Crane family is saddened to announce the passing of Selma Crane, wife of George (deceased 1968), mother extraordinaire to her four sons John, Denis, Leslie and Rodger; grandmother to Megan, Gela, Jeremy, David, Courtney, Nicky, and AJ and great-grandmother to Kyle. Selma was a long-time resident of Lambeth Road, Etobicoke (Islington), and later The Arboretum and then Wellington Terrace, both in Guelph. With a sparkle in her eyes, an uncomplaining manner and seemingly unlimited vitality, Selma was a great listener and always had encouragement for everyone. She was the loving operator of the 'family B&B' which was the meeting and storage point for her far flung family. She was especially proud that all her children and grandchildren had obtained university degrees. With her hands never idle, Selma was always knitting sweaters (nothing was impossible) which were the pride of family members and the envy of everyone else. Selma touched many others as a long-term Girl Guide leader, extreme world traveler and passionate curler at the Weston G&C Club. She will also be missed at many bridge tables. Visitation will be at Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Rd, Toronto from 68 pm on Friday March 19, 2010. Funeral services will be held at St. Georges-on-the-Hill Anglican Church, 4600 Dundas St West, Toronto (Islington) on Saturday March 20, 2010 at 1 pm with interment directly thereafter in the Church cemetery. Following the burial, please join the family for a reception at a location nearby, instructions will be available at the Church.
