Sean Chong

Brampton, Ontario - It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Cordinald Sean Chong, known to us as “Sean”, on April 16, 2025, at the age of 56. He will be remembered as a man of quiet strength, a man with an unwavering love for his family and an endless curiosity for the forces of the universe. Often found with a tool in hand, taking things apart just to see how they fit together.

A devoted husband, a loving and dedicated father, Sean was born in Kingston, Jamaica on May 24, 1968. A very short 6 months after Sean was born, Cordie and Claudia relocated to Ontario, Canada, with his 3-year-old sister Jacquie. In December 1974 his little sister Melanie was born and their family was complete.

For many years, Sean dedicated his professional life to the world of tech, most recently as a valued computer technician and manager, travelling the world to many places. Known for his meticulous approach, Sean never overlooked a single detail. His precision in troubleshooting and problem-solving meant that systems ran smoothly and efficiently, while his reliability made him a go-to person whenever a tough issue arose.

The heart of Sean's world was his beloved wife, Pamela Jayne Wright. Theirs was a special bond, built on shared laughter, mutual unwavering support and fun-loving respect. They met during their college years and together created a life filled with love and companionship.

Their joy was multiplied with the arrival of their precious child, William Cordinald Chong. The circumstances surrounding William’s birth are considered a true miracle, a testament to hope, resilience and strength of a family that had already faced incredible odds. At the time, Jayne was a dual organ transplant recipient, and both William’s safe birth and his mother’s survival were nothing short of extraordinary.

Outside of his work, Sean enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, whether it was playing frisbee golf, strumming his guitar under the shade of his backyard gazebo or summer camping trips in the forest. He found great peace in the quiet moments his pastimes offered, as well as happiness in sharing these moments with friends and family. Sean lived by the saying “Everything in moderation,” a reminder to keep life balanced, finding joy in all things without letting any one thing take over.

Sean will be remembered for his kindness and gentle spirit, sharp mind, and quiet humour. He was a man who exemplified dedication and loyalty. He touched many lives with his willingness and eagerness to help others and his calm and steady presence. Sean was a pillar of unwavering support and his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Sean is reunited with his beloved wife, Jaynie Wright. He is survived by his cherished son, William Chong; his sister, Jacquie and her husband, Jeff MacDonald; his niece, Claire Carew; his nephew, Richard Carew and his wife, Grishma Saheba; his sister, Melani Chong; his nephews, Drae Clarke and Cody Walsh; his mother-in-law Joan Wright and brother-in-law Bill Wright; as well as his beloved cat Pippin.

From an early age, Sean forged deep and lasting friendships with many friends. A special acknowledgement to his dear friend Nelson Wilson who provided him with love and daily support for the last 18 months of his life.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Sean with his family during the visitation on Friday, May 9th from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. EST at Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main St S., Brampton.
