Scott Wells

Scott Morgan Wells (Scotty)

It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Scotty Wells, on July 28, 2016 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by the love of his wife Linda Wells, and by the support of all of his family. Loving father of Sharlene Wells. Devoted step-father to Lisa Dockery (Everold), Lindsay Brown and Todd Brown (Kristen).

Proud grand-father of Tristian and Noah Wells, Sierra, Myles and Sheridan Dockery. Scotty will also be greatly missed by his sister Pastor Sheila Purchase (Pastor Doug), by his brothers Gerald Wells (Rita) and Terry Wells (Val), and by his brother in law Dennis Hudson.

Born in Horwood, Newfoundland where he mastered several instruments, he was a regular on the television show “At the Matador”, hosted his own show “Country Time”, toured the Nashville circuit and has played with such greats as Kenny Rogers, Conway Twitty, Gordon Lightfoot and sat in with Roy Clarke in San Jose, California. Scotty has had seven releases and the first video written by Scotty played the Nashville network for 17 weeks.

Together Linda and Scotty performed as Silver Wings, bringing talent, harmony and experience to new and old country. The writing and singing capabilities of Linda along with the writing, singing and instrumentation skills of Scotty produced a sound that was music to the ears. They performed with two of Canada’s top musicians “The Best of The Best” Roy Penny on lead guitar and Brian Barron on fiddle.

The title cut “Cause I Love You” of their first CD received air play worldwide and won “The International Country CD of the Year Award” from the “National Traditional Country Music Association” in the USA in 2012. Mainly written by Linda and produced by Scotty, featured a combination of songs geared to the Canadian and world market. Engineered by Dennis Brunet, featured some of Toronto’s finest artists such as “Big” John Anthony on keyboards, Paul Cockburn on steel, Dennis Brunet on percussion and Scotty did all of the guitar work, lead, bass and rhythm also accordion and harp.
