Surrounded by the love of her family, Saturnina Pingol passed peacefully in her home on Monday January 25th 2021. She is the beloved wife of the late Abelardo Pingol. Known to many as Nanay Ninay, she will always be fondly remembered by her family in Canada, and in the Philippines. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth, Son-In-Law William, grandchildren Juliette, Joseph, Jenny, Christian and Michael, and great-grandchildren including Elyssa.
Nanay will always be remembered as a woman of grace - her generous, caring, selfless and abundant love for family and friends inspired us all. Her outpouring of love was most prominent in financially supporting her nieces and nephews in their schooling. A successful businesswoman, she and her husband established a garment factory servicing both Metro Manila and the Provinces. With this blessing they were able to provide for their families. When she wasn’t at work, she enjoyed her time sewing and cooking.
Arriving in Canada in 1991, Nanay continued to love and care for Tatay, her children and grandchildren. Asking nothing in return she continued to dedicate her life to her family, and most importantly to God. She showed love that can only be rooted in Christ and serving in the Seniors and Kababayan Ministries.
Nanay Ninay’s family would like to thank all those who took their time to celebrate her life with us this day, and who have ever made Nanay smile. We’ll miss her dearly but we know she’s with Tatay and Tito Boy in the Kingdom. Psalm 118:24 says, ‘This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it."
