It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Salvatore Imbrogno on November 13, 2009, at Etobicoke General Hospital, at the age of 90, with his family by his side. Beloved husband of the late wife Divina and loving father of Lidia and Maria and sons in-law Mario and Vincenzo. His gentleness and kindness will be missed by grandchildren Rosella, Martino, Loredana, Bruno, Cristina, Giovanni, Vito, Anna Maria, Manuela and Salvatore and great grandchildren Samantha, Melissa, Callista and Taciano. He will be sadly missed by his dear friends and extended family.
Salvatore was a peaceful, selfless, and humble man who dedicated his life to his family. He had a long, rich and fulfilling life, however, he also faced many hardships in his life with great courage. He served seven years in the war and fought two life threatening illnesses with great humility. Recently, he resided at Villa Columbo Retirement Home in Vaughan until his last days spent in the hospital where he continued to be brave and strong until the very end.
Visitation will be held at WARD FUNERAL HOME, Saturday from 6-9 p.m. and Sunday from 6-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Augustine Canterbury Church on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 10 a.m. Entombment at Glendale Cemetery, the last supper mausoleum. In honour of Salvatore’s battle with Parkinson’s Disease, donations can be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
The family thanks you for all your support and generosity. For all those who loved Salvatore, time was simply not enough.
