It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest Salvatore Chirichella. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 28, 2024, in his 88th year.
Salvatore was a loving man with an unshakable devotion to his wife Lucrezia ‘nee Ventola’ for nearly 63 years. Beloved father of Josephine (Carmine), Nick (Maria), Patricia (Lou) & Franco (Laura). Cherished nonno of Austin (Gena), Nicole, Luca, Olivia, Salvatore, Vincenzo, Daniel, Juliana & Andrew. Proud bisnonno to Poppy & Vittoria. Reunited in death with his parents Nicola & Giuseppina Chirichella of Salerno, Italy.
A butcher by trade, he was overjoyed when he was creating beautiful memories whether fishing, hunting, tending to his beautiful garden full of flowers, growing fruits & vegetables.
He was a proud Italian man who made sure to pass along the beauty of his homeland & traditions, from making wine to enjoying classical Italian opera.
His loss to his family and friends is significant and can't be explained in words. He has left behind the legacy of family members with clarity of their values & desires. He will be deeply missed, and his memory will live on in the hearts & minds of those who knew him.
Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge) on Thursday, May 2, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral mass to be celebrated at St. Peter’s Parish on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 9:30 a.m., with interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
The family requests that should you wish, you would consider a memorial donation to Hospice Vaughan.
