It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Salvatore. He passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at the age of 89 at Etobicoke General Hospital.

He was a devoted husband of Caterina of 58 years. Proud father of Maria and Mike, and Liberata and Peter. Cherished Nonno of Alessandra, Andrea, Daniele, Matteo and Giulia.

Salvatore was born in Gagliato, Catanzaro, Italy on October 14, 1932. Married in 1963 and moved to Toronto to work and provide a future for his wife and family. He was a dedicated plant maintenance employee until the age of 65 when he retired. Salvatore devoted his retirement to his wife, children and grandkids. He loved gardening, so proud of his tomatoes, watching soccer and his favourite team AC Milan, playing cards, gathering with his friends at the social club, family picnics and winter getaways to Acapulco, Mexico.

Salvatore will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Visitation will take place at Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge on Sunday, November 28 from 4pm - 9pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 29 at 9:30am at St. Roch’s Roman Catholic Church, 2889 Islington Ave, Toronto. Entombment to follow at Glendale Cemetery, 1810 Albion Road in Etobicoke.

Memorial Donations, if desired, may be made to Hospital for Sick Kids Foundation, and would be appreciated by the family.
