Ruth Smith

Peacefully at Wyndham Manor, Oakville on May 1, 2017 at the age of
93. Predeceased by her husband George Thomas Smith (1994). Loving
mother of Russell (the late Nancy), the late Michael, Leonard, Brian
(Kathleen), and the late Paul. Cherished grandmother of Jeremy,
Kaitlyn, and Jonathan. Dear sister of the late James (the late Mary),
Marie Martin (the late John), Robert (the late Gladys) and Donald.

Ruth, the girl from Dartford, Ontario who joined the RCAF to serve her
country, settled in Toronto where she met a boy from Kinkora, PEI and
they had five boys. The rest is a history of dedication to family life and
values, the great Ontario outdoors and a home where extended family
and childhood friends treated our house as a destination and stopover
point when in the Toronto area.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 109
Reynolds Street, Oakville on Thursday, May 4th from 6 – 9pm. The
funeral service will be held on Friday, May 5th, 2017 in the chapel at
10a.m. Reception to follow. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery,
Thornhill.
