Ruth (Clinton) Powell - born 11 August 1940 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island to the late Luke and Sarah (Hopkinson) Clinton. Died peacefully in Mississauga, Ontario 26 December 2016.
Mom, Nana, Auntie Ruthie, Clint, Mrs. P - lovingly remembered by her children Deborah and Dale, her daughter-in-law, Crystal, her grandchildren Tammy (Chris), Laine, Klint and Hailey, and her great-grandchildren Tuffer and Noah. Also remembered by her sister, Jeannie Jewell and sister-in-law, Dianne Clinton, special nieces, Janet King, Iris Kacor, Carol Clinton, Lynn Bradley and Shelly Bradley, special nephews, Mark Rogers and Stephen Rogers and many more nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly; as well as special friends Kathy Zanth, Joanne Smith, Olive Tyers, Bev Barrett and cousin-in-law Johnny Powell; and friends too numerous to mention.
Predeceased by her husband, Howard Powell and his parents, Harvey and Myrtle as well as brothers, sisters and in-laws Mary (Herbie) Oatway, Arthur, Louis, Elmer, Maurice, Doris (Fred) Mutz, Lorne (Hazel), Earl (Mary), John, Iris (Wally) Rogers, Lloyd (Ernestine), Elden, Dave (Joyce) Powell, Loretta (Cyril) Hurshman, and special relatives and friends Walter "Snooks" Powell, Eunice Powell, Shirley (Keith) Warren, Fluff Atkinson and Carol Fishburn. Also predeceased by her beloved dog/friend Tiki.
She loved dancing, music, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, playing bridge with the Airedale bridge club and travelling. She also was valuable in assisting the 1st Georgetown Venturers in their endeavours.
A woman of substance who was always available to family and friends by listening, loving and supporting them in every way. Mom's kindness and love always shone through and will continue to shine on in all who remember her and keep her in their heart.
