Ruth McCulloch

Evelyn “Ruth” McCulloch (nee Dobson),

Born in Claireville, Ontario September 20, 1927, died peacefully at home in Waterloo, December 18, 2020. Ruth was the 2nd oldest of 8 children of the late William Clifford and Sarah Jane (Wilson) Dobson, predeceased in 2005 by her loving husband Keith McCulloch after 55 years of marriage. She was fun-loving, creative and a devoted mom to their 2 daughters, Karen (Ian McKenzie) and Dianne Gamble (Mike); and as Granny to Keith (Christina McNerney), Don (Janice de Jong), and Devon (Gabrielle Arvanitis) McKenzie, Lauren (Dan) Riverso and Cassandra Gamble. She was adored as ‘Granny Ruth’ by her 3 great granddaughters, Charlotte and Andrea Riverso and Addison McKenzie.

Ruth loved colour in her life, especially purple, and expressed creativity through hairdressing, sewing, crafts, costumes, flower arranging and more. A generous and giving person, she modeled the values of volunteering, reaching milestones for donating blood through the Red Cross, being honoured as a lifetime member of the Peel Memorial Hospital Auxiliary after decades of working in the gift shop, and taking on a myriad of activities as a longtime member of the United Church Women at Grace United Church. Some may remember her for her years as a member of the Brampton Curling Club where she was an avid player and coached high school curling.

Arrangements by Ward Funeral Home - Brampton. A private burial service will be held by family on Monday, January 4, 2021 at 2 pm.
