Rosina Girimonte

Rosina Girimonte (née Garofalo) born October 18, 1939 passed away peacefully with her children by her side. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  Loving wife to Cesare Girimonte. Precious mother to Antonietta (Alberto)  and Carmine (Deborah). Devoted Nonna to Fiorina (Matthew), Stefanie, John-Michael and Cassandra (Samuel). And Proud Bisnonna to Liam.  Sweet sister to Nello Garofalo (Franca), Tina (predeceased by Frank) and predeceased by her sister Rita.  Rosina will be remembered by all her nieces, nephews and extended family.

Rosina came to Toronto from Rogliano, Cosenza in 1959 to marry the love of her life. She worked hard her whole life and always put others before anything else. She will be fondly remembered by those in the neighbourhood that she would interact with on her daily walks. From making cookies and fresh pasta in the basement to having pizza nights on Saturdays, her family will miss her immensely.

Rosina enjoyed her many trips to Florida with her husband, children and grandchildren. The simplest pleasures brought the most joy to her life.

Rosina will be missed beyond words by her best friend and soulmate, Cesarino. The two had a inseparable bond. Cesare came to Canada in 1956 and those were the longest three years they were separated until Rosina arrived in 1959. Two weeks later, they were married on May 9, 1959 and have been as thick as thieves ever since. Always covering for one another while bickering, the love they had was unlike any other.
