It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving mother and grandmother on the 24th of May. In her 85th year, she passed after a brief but difficult illness. Predeceased by her husband Fred, survived by her sister Gisela Rehder, her children Dorothy Hochmuth, Christine Boylan, Andy Peters and her grandchildren Jon and Justin Hochmuth, and Matthew and Jeremy Boylan. She immigrated from Germany to Toronto in 1953, where she met and married her loving husband of 51 years after seven months. Always a loving and supportive wife to her husband’s business and very active church ministry, she touched many hearts and spread lots of love over the years. An avid gardener and cyclist, she always took much pride in anything she touched; though was always led by her heart and used her favourite pastimes to fundraise or help others wherever possible. She constantly assisted other friends and community members, and took pride in her independence and ability to help. Possessing a phenomenal memory, she never forgot Birthdays, anniversaries, and other important dates of friends and family alike. Happiest when surrounded by her family, she loved to be a part of the milestones and accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She always had a picture to show, a story to tell, or some loving advice to share. Loved by many friends and most dearly by her family, her daily presence and larger than life personality will be deeply missed. Friends and family are invited to visit at Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main Street South, Brampton, on Friday May 31, 2019, from 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held at New Apostolic Church, 45 Eastbourne Dr, Brampton, on Saturday June 1, 2019 at 2 pm.
