Rosa Cancelli

On Thursday, July 4th, 2019 in her 96th year, Rosa peacefully left us for her eternal home, where she joins her beloved husband, Giuseppe, who passed away in 2007. Rosa was born on August 11, 1922 in Vallefredda, in Frosinone, Italy. She was a woman of absolute strength, faithfulness and total commitment to her family. Rosa Cancelli, née Pagliaroli, is survived by a large, adoring family: her children Giulio (Francesca), Maria Domenica (Vincenzo); her adored grandchildren Nadia (Dev), Paola (Oliver), Christian (Danielle), Mary Clare (Andrew), Melissa (Daniel), and Stephanie; her treasured great-grandchildren, Jayan, Charlotte, Alexander, Benjamin, Ariana, Dominic, and Ethan. She leaves her dear sisters-in-law, Innocenza and Angelina and many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. We have been blessed to have had such a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother for all of these years. The family gratefully acknowledges the care given to Rosa by the doctors and nurses at Humber River Hospital and by her caregivers Margie and Gin. She will be lovingly remembered in the hearts of many family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer’s Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
