Ronald Sutherland

Ronald Sutherland
August 26, 1935 - July 17, 2016

A proud past Board member and Broker of the Mississauga Real Estate Board (MREB, TREB) and lifetime member of the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) passed away having spent all of his nine lives. Growing up in Glasgow, Scotland, he married Nora and came to Canada in 1958 where he expanded on his work in the bank to ultimately work as a real estate broker. In the late 1970's he and his partner Brian Smith invested in ReMax and became well known in the Clarkson, Lorne Park, and Park Royal area. If real estate was his profession, the game of bridge was his passion. Ron was taught bridge by his mother when he was a teen. He competed at local, regional, national and international bridge tournaments and became an ACBL Emerald Life Master. Ron was predeceased by daughter Fiona (1960) and son Stephen (JoAnn), and remained proud father of Colin (Lisa), Bruce and Eric (Ashley), and grandfather of Alex, Jacob, Keara, Maya and Jayme. A memorial bridge game will take place in September at his bridge club.
