Romana van Belkom

van BELKOM, Romana (nee Montalti) - After living with Alzheimer's for a number of years, Romana passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2009, at the age of 81. Born in Monte Castello, prov. Emilia-Romagna and came to Canada in 1952. She met the love of her life Frank at Canada Packers and they were married for 56 wonderful years. Loving mother of Louis and his wife Barb, Edo and his wife Roberta. Cherished nana of Anne, Frank, and Luke. Romana was a member of the Italian Roding Ladies Senior Club. She will be best remembered for her passions in life which include sewing, stitchery, gardening, love and involvement in Bazaars, and for her Italian cuisine. Mam made a lasting impression on everyone she met. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Phillip Neri, 2100 Jane St., just north of Wilson Ave. Interment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery.
