Roberto Mannella

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest patriarch Roberto Mannella, who passed away peacefully on March 29, 2024, at Etobicoke General Hospital surrounded by his beloved family. Affectionately known to his family as Pop.

Beloved husband of Esther. Devoted father to Cindy (Tony) & Alex (Nelia). Cherished nonno to Andrew, Matthew (Alyssa), Lauren (Lucas), Sophia & Lucas. Proud bisnonno to Madelynn & Antonio-Roberto. He is reunited with his dear siblings Vincenzo, Bruno, Luigi, Stella, Concetta, Carmela. He will be lovingly remembered by his extended family & friends in Canada & Italy.

Together, Roberto & Esther were exceptional parents, grandparents & great grandparents, they were happily married for 61 years. Only Roberto’s passing could separate them. A true gentleman in every sense of the word, he was a man of many talents with a passion to learn and never allow age to slow him down. He stayed current in today's politics and was active in technology never missing a beat to facetime with his children & grandchildren to keep up with their day-to-day activities. Roberto worked for CN Rail for 42 years but would always say "family comes first, I come second and the job is last"

Roberto was a self taught tailor and musician who played the Piano and Accordion in a band.  He would never pass on an opportunity to serenade the family to his favourite opera classics and would especially love to play the piano for his grandchildren.  Roberto could play for hours much to the delight of everyone around.

Roberto's words of wisdom will be sorely missed, but his teachings are evident in the lives of those he touched. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and the gentle strength that he carried through every trial and triumph. As we say farewell to a man who was the very embodiment of life & vibrancy, we take comfort in the memories that will continue to inspire and guide us.

All are welcome to gather at Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge on Friday, April  5, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 6:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.
