Robert Niven

Robert W Niven April 3 1924 - April 6 2018, passed away peacefully in his sleep beside his loving wife, having turned 94.

He will be missed by us all as a beloved husband of 72 years to Marjorie, devoted father to sons Robert (Marg), and Geoffrey (Jackie). Loving Grandpa to Lindsay (Brandon), Andrew (Tianna), and Laurel. GreatGrandpa to Anderson, Benjamin, and Edith. Caring uncle to his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Grace, and younger brother James.

A generous man in many ways, he gave his time to the Air Cadets, Air Cadet League, Boy Scouts, St John Ambulance training others in first aid, and made over 100 blood donations to the Red Cross saving countless lives. He was a armorer with the Royal Canadian Air Force based in England during World War II where he met the love of his life, Marjorie.

Our heartfelt thanks to the team at Wentworth Heights for the great and loving care for both of our parents, and being able to keep them together into their 73rd year.

Cremation has taken place and service will be held at Ward Funeral Homes Weston, 2035 Weston Road, Toronto on Friday April 13th at 1pm. For those who wish, memorial donations to Camp BUCKO would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
