With great sadness the family of Robert Cameron announces his unexpected passing at his home in Toronto on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the age of 53. Rob will be forever remembered by Stella, his cherished wife of 19 years, his precious son Neal, his loving parents Duncan and Jessie, many close aunties, uncles and cousins, and the entire Emmanuel family. Rob is predeceased by his beloved sister Marian and also his lifelong friend Steve Goldsmith. Rob was born in Greenock, Scotland on July 19, 1963 and the Cameron family immigrated to Ontario in 1966. He graduated from Woburn Collegiate Institute and immediately embarked on his long banking career – 26 years with the Bank of Montreal, and more recently with Symcor Inc. Rob loved all aspects of sports – he was a die-hard Toronto Maple Leaf supporter, played hockey and also coached youth hockey and soccer. He was a fabulous host and was always in his happy place behind the bbq at their many parties for family and friends.
Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home “Weston Chapel, 2035 Weston Rd, Toronto (N. Of Lawrence ave. W) 1st on Friday December 9th from 6-9pm and on Saturday December 10th from 2:30pm until the time of service in the Chapel at 3:30pm. A Reception will follow from 4:30 0-6:30pm.
